Culture and Heritage Awareness Marathon is an event aimed at celebrating and raising awareness about the richness of Uganda’s rich Cultural and heritage diversity.
The marathon is organized by Calsaar Cultural Initiative a sister organization to Calsaar Safaris Uganda.
Calsaar Cultural initiative is a Non-Profit Organization dedicated to preserving Uganda’s rich cultural heritage through community tourism driven initiatives that foster inclusivity, sustainability and economic empowerment of the persons.
one of the key initiatives of the marathon will be restoring or maintaining a significant cultural site such as a historical land mark, traditional kingdom palace, cultural museum or heritage site! Optionally, the proceeds shall be used in environmental wellness campaigns in a chosen community for instance Tree planting. These locations serve as vital links to the past and are crucial for passing down traditions to future generations. Engaging the community in preserving these sites would foster a sense of ownership and pride, ensuring their sustainability in years to come
